Avoid flowers from Clucas Florist, Douglas Isle of Man

Sad tulip flowers in vaseThis is a guest post from one of our visitors here on who was been willing to share their experience, from dealing with Clucas Florist in Douglas, through a customer review.

On Sunday 10th of March 2013 someone knocked on the door. A man was standing outside the door, with flowers from Clucas florists in Douglas and handed them over. They were mother’s day flowers.

Tearooms at Ard Jekyll and MSPCA

If you are not interested in helping out with the animals at MSPCA as a volunteer, but still think it would be nice to have been here, I will take this opportunity to tell you about Ard Jekyll Tearooms.
Here you can get everything from the usual warm, lighter meals to tea with scones and a piece of cake.

Me and my partner cant have animals for several reasons such as, for example, that we travel a lot and the apartment complex we live in does not allow animals. However, both me and my partner loves animals.  He grew up with dogs and before I moved here I had two cats.

Fitness thru Life with Rosie Ormsby

Having a personal trainer can be a great addition to everyday training for those who want to keep track of their weight or just get a little healthier.

I searched for a while online for a personal trainer and fell for Rosie Ormsby and her Fitness Thru Life. On the website she describes her self, her educational level and the different types of exercise she offers. At first I was afraid of what she might think about my fitness level, but after finally meeting her, after a month of hesitation, I decided I wanted her make home visit.

Dinner at The Abbey

A great restaurant located at Rushen Abbey. If your starting point is Douglas, go towards the airport and Castletown. When you reach the roundabout in Ballasalla, turn right and then left. Soon after that you will have to make a right turn again towards Rushen Abbey. The road will lead you to the restaurant’s front side and parking.

Glen Helen

Glen Helen is a hidden gem and can be a bit tricky to find if you haven’t been there before. The easiest way is to turn right at the traffic stop in St John’s, if you are coming from Douglas. You will go straight forward from there until Glen Helen suddenly appears on the right hand side. But be observant, it is placed in a bend so if you drive too fast, it may be easy to miss.

There are a few places on the Isle of Man where you can go to buy furniture and related accessories such as the B & B, B & Q and Marks and Spencer. However, I would think that Habitat has the best range of products.

Shopping at Tynwald Mills

What to do on a rainy Sunday?
Go to Tynwald Mills!
This site is located on the way to Peel. Shortly after you pass St. John’s, there will be signs on the right hand side. Tynwald Mills is not visual at first, but once you turn off the main road, to the right, you will drive on a road with dense forest on both sides. You will approach a little bridge that goes straight ahead, before the bridge you turn right, if you go over the small bridge you have gone too far.
There is an enormous parking lot belonging to Tynwald Mills where you can park your car for free and without a disc.

This little French restaurant is located at the northern end of the Promenade, walk pass the Paramount, at the beginning of the hill towards Onchan on the left hand side. The restaurant does not look like much from the outside, but once you get inside the door, you encounter a small, picturesque dining room with a warm and welcoming staff.
